Tasks

  • Cut away aphid-infested radish pods
  • Re-adjusted awkward rain barrel positions
  • Cut off some dead asparagus
  • Sprayed squash with neem oil/insecticidal soap mixture
  • Watered
  • Planted wild arugula seeds under pea trellis
Harvest
  • Beans: 200 g
  • Tomatoes: 300 g
  • Greens: 20 g
Notes
  • Fist-sized squash on hugel mound. Need protection from sqirrels.

September 1

  • Can't believe it's already September!
  • Tomatoes, kale, chard, and basil ready for harvest

Notes
  • The squirrels ate through to the tender centre of one melon, so I harvested it. The place they had bitten showed pink, but when the melon was cut open it was fully white. Experimenting with cooking it as a stir-fry vegetable.
  • Garden Together was cut short by a thunder storm
